At the high latitude of Iceland the summer nights have no darkness, but often have a beautiful romantic atmosphere and the mountains can take on a mysterious glow, often enhanced by the strange colours which are the result of the underlying geology, as here in the Lón area of the southeast.
About Georg Douglas
Originally educated as a geologist (PhD), I have worked in this field and taught for 36 years until retirement. I have been painting full time since 2005 and have held several solo and joint exhibitions. Although living in Iceland for most of my life, I was born and raised in Co. Derry, N.
